President’s Volunteer Service Award


We at Anthony Elementary believe we have a caring, giving school community. We think that it is important to give recognition to our students and staff who volunteer everyday improving and making our community proud. We are participating in the President’s Volunteer Service Award programThis award is given to individuals who perform community service within a 12-month period (November 1 - November 1). Community Service is defined as time spent doing unpaid good deeds for the benefit of others. In order to achieve this award, students must complete a set number of volunteer service hours (see chart below).

Participation is completely voluntary. The award is a specially designed pin, a certificate and a letter from the President of the United States. To participate, please have them log their hours on the attached service form and turn it into the school counselor, Mary Reardon, by the fifth day of every month OR turn in all hours no later than November 1. We encourage your child to participate in some of the following activities in the community:
-
Community Improvement -Elderly Assistance -Environment/Recycling -Hunger and Homelessness -School Service Projects  -Church Service Projects -Scout Service Projects

* Please note, work done for family members cannot be counted as community service.
