Principal's Message

Dear Anthony Families,

November was a month full of activities at Anthony. Hopefully your families were able to attend some of the fun events we hosted.

We had our annual music concerts for Kindergarten through 5th grade.  We want to give a special thanks to Ms. Moyers and our students for putting in the time and effort to make it all happen. The songs, dancing and poems were practiced over several months and beautifully performed on concert night.  We have some talented students at Anthony.

Our Anthony family veterans were honored with our first Veterans Day Assembly. Students were able to enjoy speakers, Katie Wempe,  LVHS graduate and former blackhawk pilot as well as Ret. Col. Sam Sanford, local veteran and Army chaplain with 30 years of service. Ms. Wempe and Col. Sanford spoke to our students about their military experience as well as character traits that helped them be successful.

The fundraiser held through Fundraising U was a success!  We were able to raise over $2,500 for our school. This money will be used to pay for field trips, including buses, and for extra field day awards.

As we approach the Winter Break, I did want to remind everyone about some upcoming dates:

  • Winter Break starts Friday, December 21 and students return Monday, January 7th
  • 2nd Quarter Grade Cards will be sent home after Winter Break with students
  • Please look for information on Spring Parent-Teacher Conferences to be sent home when we return from winter break. Spring Parent-Teacher Conferences will be in a different format this year; we will be hosting a Student Showcase.

Lastly, with the cold weather setting in please let Ms. McConnell, Ms. Reardon, or the front office know if any student is in need of a winter coat, hat, or gloves as well as other resources for the cold season.

Have a great December, and we hope you have a joyful, restful Winter Break with friends and family.
