Anthony Elementary School

Principal's Message

Anthony Families,
We can definitely tell the weather is changing, and we have entered the Winter Season here at Anthony.  During the past month, we were fortunate to host Janet Waugh, Kansas State Board of Education Representative, at Anthony for a building tour of the outstanding activities here in the building.  Also, our 5th Grade recently completed their annual Wax Museum Project with students dressing up and acting out a role as a historical character with other classes able to come see the presentations.  Further, our Class Buddy activities have continued to be a great success.  Recently, 3rd grade visited Kindergarten and completed an interactive activity with some treats for all involved.  Lastly, our 3rd Grade hosted their 2nd annual Technology Read and Feed event featuring Nachos and an opportunity for students to show parents the technology used in class.
As we approach the Winter Break, I did want to remind everyone about some upcoming dates.  First, student break will start on Friday, December 22 and students will return to school on Wednesday, January 3.  Second, 2nd Quarter Grade Cards will be sent home after Winter Break with students. Finally, shortly after Winter Break, please look for information on Spring Parent-Teacher Conference information to be coming home in Thursday Folders.
Lastly, with the cold weather setting in, please let Ms. McConnell, Ms. Reardon, or the Front Office know if any student is in need of a winter coat, hat, or gloves as well as other resources for the Winter Season.  We always want to help whenever we can for our families.
Have a great rest of December, and I hope you have a joyful, restful Winter Break with friends and family.
