Principal's Message

Anthony Families,

It has been an outstanding month at Anthony Elementary this December. Fifth grade was able to have USD 453 Board of Education Member, Mr. Darling, visit to share artifacts and reproductions from the American Revolution. We also held our PTO Holiday Shop, Clothing Giveaway, and StuCo Movie Night. Additionally, our Student Council is continuing their various community involvement efforts as is the Anthony Vocal Motion Choir.

As we wrap up the 2nd quarter, there are some important dates to mark in your calendars. On Monday, December 19, we will hold our quarterly PBIS Summit Buck Celebration for students who have met all the criteria. This quarter’s celebration is an assembly voted on by our Student Council. As well, our Winter Parties will be on Wednesday, December 21 from 2:00-3:00. Your child’s teacher will be in touch regarding any specifics for each class party. Please remember that students do not have school from Thursday, December 22 through Tuesday, January 3. Students return on Wednesday, January 4. The Anthony front office will also be closed from December 22 through January 2.

Now that we are fully entering Winter, please be mindful that we may still be holding outdoor recess depending on the outside wind chill/temperature. Please ensure that your students are wearing appropriate clothing for the weather. If you have questions around this, please contact your child’s teacher.

From the entire Anthony team, please have a safe, restful, and hopefully fun-filled Winter Break. We look forward to seeing all students and families back in January 2017.

One of the coldest evenings of the winter season so far didn't stop student council members and sponsors from Anthony Elementary from ringing bells at Wal-Mart on behalf of the Salvation Army. Students braved the elements to ring bells for 2 hours. The group raised $144 to go toward the Salvation Army's Red Kettle Campaign.

Anthony Fifth Graders Present Wax Museum

Fifth graders at Anthony Elementary hosted a wax museum for parents, peers, and staff members. Each student selected a person to research and prepared a short speech to share about their person when visitors stopped at their display in the wax museum.
